SELF DISCIPLINE: KEY TO THE INNER AND OUTER JOURNEY

SELF ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM 240 X 250DISCIPLINE:
Virtually every person that has achieved something of significance for society, their family, community, or of world importance traces their success to that point in their lives when they realized the greatest barrier to that potential success was themselves.  We all know this but live within a self-reinforcing code of silence.  It is understood: “I won’t speak about your ‘Elephant in the Room’ if you won’t speak about mine.”  At least it used to be that way. That was before the avalanche of thousands of commercials per day tempting us with images of what media set as the standards we should follow.  But, as the father in Jane Austin’s acclaimed book  “Pride and Prejudice” was apt to lament after an unacceptable decision or act, “It will pass soon enough.”  And at a speed we can barely keep up with, our attention is kidnapped with an even more enticing image of what success, joy or happiness looks like, setting us off in a different direction or reinforcing an unproductive direction that has already grown in to a habit pattern.

Aside from the ups and downs in the diet and exercise department, the inability to take control and exercise restraint on the urges and demands of our body for its next pleasure has ramifications in countless other areas of our lives.  Chief among these is the aim of achieving higher states of consciousness leading to the pursuit of the principle reason we are incarnated into this physical region in the first place. What most people do not realize is that we chose this location among many planetary possibilities knowing of its difficulties and when compared to alternatives. The reasons for this are complex but discernible. The important thing to realize is that our very existence is not by some random chance that many scientist would still be inclined to believe but the result of a cosmic plan that takes each of us into account as we all have agreed to a cosmic mission based on pre-birth consultations with beings responsible for this support.

The important thing to realize is that our very existence is not by some random chance that many scientist  believe.  Rather, it is the result of a cosmic plan that takes each of us uniquely into account.  We have all have agreed to a cosmic mission based on pre-birth consultations with beings responsible for our support while in this dimension. We also were aware, before the veil revealing our many past lives, was pulled leaving us to the vagaries of our past lives and current life mission.

All of this leads back to the simple realization that without gaining control over the “Elephant in the Room”, we have little chance of fulfilling these spiritual goals and taking the next step on our quest of achieving life eternal through the Ascension.  Many before us and many of our contemporaries have achieved this highest of earthly goals.

But this is never easy, for after countless lifetimes, we are still struggling with resolving the question, who is really in charge, me or this vehicle? I am so endowed to learn the lessons and assert control that will lead to reaching my life’s outer and inner goals. Here, discipline is the key and it is achievable if we understand how this vehicle can be guided to do what we wish it is do.

Deep. I love this. The way it is written. The simplicity yet complexity. I block myself. This helps me see. Now I have to unparalyze myself.
